Producer Luis Chinguel, from the district of Chirinos owns the farm El Nogal. This lot is called Claro de Luna which translates to Moon Beam. On the farm he also grown shade trees of Guava fruit and bay laurel trees. Luis has planted coffee all of his life and inherited this farm from his grandparents. They moved to Chirinos to provide a better life to their family. He is up every single morning at 4am to check on the plants, just like his grandfather before him had done most of his life.

The quality of this coffee is apparent by the citrus like fragrance, chocolate notes, and dried fruit sweetness. Most of these flavors Luis believes comes from the micro-climate on his farm alongside his meticulous processing in the washing of the coffee and the long drying time on the raised beds. He also spends a lot of time on his farm making sure he is creating a sustainable eco system for the plants, the animals and the health of the farm.

Luis Chinguel plants three different varieties, typica, pache and caturra. He only has 4 hectares of planting but his superior processing and care of the plants has allowed him to maximize quality in a small plot of land. Every tree takes about 4 years to mature and produce coffee.  For years Luis was workign solely with cooperatives until a specialty coffee roaster approached him about producing quality coffee for better pricing. in 2013 he travelled to Italy where his coffee was recognized as an exemplary coffee from Peru by the Slow Food organization. This was a catalyst for Luis to continue to invest on his farm and keep producing some of the finest coffee grown in Peru.
